Located in southeast ETOWN region of capital, BOA started Its construction back in 1992. On August 25, 1994. it

was ratified by the State Council as a state-level economic and technological development zone «i Beijing. The

overall planned area is 46.8 sq km ³. Up to the present, the total Investment amount of al the dwelling enterprises

in BDA exceeds S 20 billion. And the iivestment ratio of foreign funded ventures is over 70%. With a large cluster of

high and new-tech enterprises, the ratio of their

total output value and profit amount has accounted for over 80% of the BDA totals. Their exporting ratio has reached

nearly 90% of the BDA total.

Alter over a decade's development, under the supports of high and new-tech industries and modem manufacturing, all the economic indices of BDA have increased by a large magnitude over the years and the develop­ment momentum has remained strong. During the period of 1994-2008, five major indices of BDA (GDP. total industrial output value, sales revenue, financial revenue and taxation revenue) had the annual average growth rates of 56.86%, 66.24%, 76.54%, 73.02% and 54.08% respectively. Though debuting one decade later than the first batch of national class economic & technological areas, BDA has ranked high among its counter­parts in term of comprehensive economic indices.

Total Industrial Output Value of BDA

BOA has placed a high priority upon the coordinated development of industry and environment and the construction of a resource-conserving society. It has adhered to the principles of low input, high output, low consumption, less discharge, recyclable energy and sustained develop­ment. Constant efforts have been exerted to strengthen the degrees of Integrated utilization for such essential factors as land, water, electric power and energy, etc. so as to strenuously build up a resource-conserving and eco-friendly development area. Currently, the sewage treatment rate of BDA was up to 100%. The level of energy consumption per 10,000-yuan GDP reached 0.1442 ton standard coal.
